Project Description

The game can be played indoors or outdoors, on a court divided into thirds, with a centre circle, shooting circles and goal posts.

Teams of 7 players are restricted to playing areas, with only the Goal Attack and Goal Shooter able to score.
Squads usually consist of 10 – 12 players, so that substitutions can be made for injury or illness during intervals.
Games last an hour with quarters of 15 minutes each.
For more information on the rules of the game please visit: http://www.englandnetball.co.uk/The_Game/Playing_Netball/

The pictures below are of the East Region Back to Netball Festival in Chelmsford in May, where over two hundred women who have come ‘Back to Netball’ from across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk took part. Both indoor images are from local sessions.

What to bring

Wear comfortable clothing i.e. shorts or jogging bottoms, t-shirt and trainers.

How much will I exert myself?

Sessions are designed to be a gentle introduction back into the sport.  Whether you want to run around playing centre or improve your shooting technique, ‘Back to Netball’ offers something for everyone.

Safety

No player may contact an opponent, either accidentally or deliberately, in such a way that interferes with the play of that opponent or causes contact to occur.

Just the beginning…

Please visit these websites provided by England Netball for more information as well as clubs you may wish to join after the sessions end.
